Volunteers "Dig" the Garden!

On a rainy day in March 2023, a determined group of Hollingsworth neighborhood gardeners pruned and cleared dead debris at the park Pavilion gardens to make way for spring plantings. Over the course of 8 weeks, several Legacy Park "friends" purchased, transplanted, and installed over 125 perennial pollinator plants. Their blooms already have attracted an assortment of bees and butterflies. The City of Greenville has agreed not to spray pesticides In order to keep the pollinating insects alive. Over the summer, volunteers are invited to come hand weed and prune the garden every Tuesday, from 8 to 10 am. Visitors are welcome to stroll around the perimeter of the gardens to admire the natural beauty that our volunteers have created.
